When an international firm seeks to make entry into a country, they seek the services of a trusted professional, one who can perform multiple functions of concept execution, brand promotion, and business development. For Livesport, a European-based instant sports update platform, Arinze Esomnofu filled this critical gap when they launched the Nigerian subsidiary – Flashscore.
Esomnofu joined Livesport in 2017 as Country Manager, Flashscore and had to execute the strategic roles of market analysis, as well as promoting the brand while also ensuring steady update of content on the site. Being the pioneer Country manager, he offered business advice to the management at the headquarters in Prague, the Czech Republic on local business prospects.
A tactical manager, Esomnofu succeeded in making the name a favourite among sports lovers in Nigeria, setting the firm on the path of fiscal prosperity. He coordinated the marketing team to build the social media pages, initiated aggressive promotion campaigns, conducted mobile application tests, and facilitated collaborations which brought more prominence to the company. It was at his instance that Flashscore initiated a social media collaboration to launch the Kwara United Football Club on the global page of Livesport. This move gained them more popularity, doubling their users within a few months.

It was his previous role as Content Editor with the Sports Desk of NAIJ.COM that recommended him for the appointment with Livesport. At NAIJ.com, he covered all aspects of sports reportage, handling both interviews, commentaries, analysis and live updates. His exceptional performance with both media have recently won him a space as a Contributing Columnist for Globalsportsmatter of Arizona State University, United States.
Esomnofu started his media career in 2014 with NAIJ.com where he doubled as a Guest columnist and Freelance Reporter. He performed similar roles at Edliner Media as Content Writer and Social Media Administrator, having joined in 2015 on a freelance basis. His ability to craft audience-compelling stories, as well as support the corporate marketing team stood him out among his colleagues and in no time, he earned himself a promotion to become the Senior Public Relations and Marketing Executive in 2016. This, though, was a brief spell for Esomnofu who was soon poached to McDorsey Service Company in June 2017.
His strategic leadership skills were no longer secret, and he was placed in dual executive positions as Social Media Manager, and Business Development Executive. At McDorsey, Esomnofu led a team of 15 people who handled the social media and marketing campaign, using the unique strategy he developed to produce astonishing results both in branding and sales.
Esomnofu holds a Bachelors’ degree in Public Administration from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and a Diploma in Social Media Marketing from Galway, Ireland. He is a member of the Editorial and Publicity Group (EPG), Sokoto, and a certified member of the New Dawn Leadership Summit.
